BBR Congestion Control: The Secret to Smooth VPNs

Most servers use CUBIC congestion control, which assumes packet loss always means congestion. BBR (Bottleneck Bandwidth and RTT) uses a different approach.

Throughput over Loss

BBR ignores random packet loss and instead focuses on the actual capacity of the network link. This prevents the "sawtooth" effect in your download speeds, leading to a much smoother streaming and browsing experience, especially on long-distance VPN routes.
